Devon Dogs: Smile You’re on Canine Camera!
November 16, 2016
For an American dog with an urban jungle background, Bodie has taken to English country life like landed gentry. To celebrate a year in the UK Bodie donned his new Tail Trends tweed dog bandana and we went to sip Earl Grey at Bovey Castle.
JEEVES & WOOFSTER!
Meet Shaun, guardian of the grand entrance to Bovey Castle, a former manor house turned five star hotel. Built in 1906, it first opened its doors to the public in 1930.
Set in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, Bovey Castle’s grounds span 275 acres, including a 18-hole golf course. Here Bodie strikes a pose on the granite terrace.
The autumnal foliage picks out the berry tones in Bodie’s bow tie!
This Sir Lancelot bandana is impeccably made by TailTrends, coincidentally based in Bodie’s home town of Los Angeles – in a land far, far from here…
Next time we plan to ascend this beautifully carved staircase and explore the 60 individually-designed bedrooms and 22 country lodges.
For today we relaxed in the wood-panelled lounge area, enjoying the peace and grandeur and toasting our toes and noses beside the fireplace.
BOVEY CASTLE currently has weekday classic single rooms available for the splendid rate of £109 (£159 for a 2-person double) including breakfast. The dog fee is £20 per night and includes bedding and bowls. Afternoon Tea is also available for non-guests price £30. For more details visit their website at www.boveycastle.com
TAILTRENDS offer a fabulous selection of bow ties, neckties, scarves and bandanas, from fun to formal, including the Sir Lancelot tweed dog bandana modeled in these pics. We are also taken with the Sherlock bandana featuring brown tweed with a red tie. (Both designs priced $19.99) available at www.tailtrends.com
